Endoscopic gastroplasty
Endoscopic gastroplasty is one of the newest treatments for obesity. As with balloons, it does not require extensive surgery and is performed under partial-sedation anesthesia where a gastroscope along with a special device are used to stitch up parts of the stomach. As in the case of sleeve resection, this causes a reduction in the volume of the stomach and a significant reduction in appetite. Weight loss may be similar to that of a sleeve resection. This procedure is recommended for people who cannot have traditional surgery under general anesthesia.
The standard length of hospital stay: Up to 2 days
